No, these people aren't crazy, or stupid, or incompetent. They are
people just like you and me who do a very dangerous job every day. They
do not get to repeat the experiment, discuss the situation ad infinitum,
or drop the research to pursue a more promising avenue. They must face
hazards of unknown complexity, make a judgment call, and DO something.
For this they are ridiculed, insulted and demeaned. All so the rest of
can go about our lives in relative peace. Chrissi, if you think it's so
damn easy, why don't you do it? You should be ashamed of those remarks
and apologize to them and us.

Rick,
First off, please get off the soap box and keep this within the context of the event, I never said any sweeping remark about these people in all situations, my comments are about this specific event and they stand as stated "These people are STUPID"
Take another look at the picture.. it is a freaking plywood box with a junk radiator in it.. period. I've seen as many tubes coming out of patients in a hospital STAND BACK! - The dudes about to go off!!!
I'd have not given it a second glance... "oh gee, some dude it trying some experiment with a radiator on his roof, cool, I wonder what he's up to?"
I'm still chuckling, don't worry folks, Chicken Little is in charge of homeland security. If this keeps up bomb shelters will be in vogue again in 6 months.

Calm down folks. We are veering off into politics and you know what happens
then :-)
