I came back from the hangar this afternoon and met Robin
in Sherman Oaks for dinner and an early K19 movie.
We were half way through the movie when they stopped the film,
turned on the house lights and evacuated the theater.
Not only the theater Robin and I were in but another theater
across the street and the entire shopping center
including the  super market. In fact they had cordoned off
a nine square block area around my Dodge Caravan with this box
on the top. The bomb squad was called in. You can guess the rest:-)

The reason they were concerned was not because of the apparatus on top of
the van Paul.  It was because of Mikey.  I believe the golden retriever is
profiled as the terrorist dog breed of choice.  A friend of ours has two
well mannered goldens that travel alot. He has been given the big once over
than his fair share. Let see, a guy from the Midwest, traveling with his
family, making sure he is doing everything he can to make it easy on
security, has two golden retrievers.  Sounds like a terrorist to me.

Good thing it wasn't our golden in the van.  Ofus would of licked the
officer on the face severely....

You gotta admit tho if this would of happened a week after  911, they would
of handled the call alot differently. They did what they are trained to do.
At least Mikey
and the van are still in one piece.
