You think that they overreacted? Someone calls  911 and says that there is a funny contraption on top of a van in a parking lot. So, what are the police and firefighters to do?

We got a call the other day about a broken water main at 3 in the morning- we get there, and the sprinklers in an apartment complex are running. We get the call, we have to respond-we cannot assess the situation remotely. So, who's the idiot in this case?
   We've gotten hazmat calls that turn out to be crushed sheetrock in the middle of the roadway. I agree, there is idiocy occuring, but don't pin the idiot label on the fire department(unless you're pinning it on upper management).

    No one ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of a large segment of the population. Anyway, you've got to laugh at this stuff, otherwise, the stupidity would be too depressing.
