I would also like to get a copy of the K&W cooling info.
I am in the process of desiging my P-51 style scoop for the bottom of my
UnCozy. I am getting ready to cut out the scoop area on the bottom of the
landing gear bulkheads. The only constraints on the width of the scoop are
the hardopints on the landing gear bulkheads. How much frontal opening area
would you recommend for a turbo 20B generating 300 HP max. I plan to use
this scoop to feed the water radiator, intercooler and oil cooler. Engine
air can be from an armpit style scoop on the top of the strake or NACA style
inlet in the top cowl. The width of the openiong at the bottom of the
firewall is 17.5" and at least that much on the landing gear bulkheads. I
have a lot of freedom on the shape and depth of the duct at this point - I
should be able to get 6" to 7" (or more) depth at this point (the NACA scoop
would have been about 3.5" deep here). Paul I like your idea of an exit
flap and will incorporate one in my design. What shape should the inlet be?
The radiused lower lip per the attached photo seems popular on inlets.

the rad requires about 25 to 30% of the rad frontal area alone.
