Thought I would pick your collective brains. I want to purchase a TIG
outfit. I was looking at the Lincoln Sq wave TIG 175 at S'n'F. But now I see
Miller has the Syncrowave 180SD. Any experience with either of these units?
I only have 60 amps avail in my shop without during some rewiring. Also have
access to a larger machine if necessary at work so the 175-180 amp will do
most of what I want to do at home. My TIG experience to date does not
include working with these more sophisticated welders. Tried the Lincoln at
S'n'F and it was quite nice on the scraps of aluminum. Thoughts?

I left off the basic use for the welder would be for fab'ing my mount and
for misc. light aluminum parts. Also, if this is considered off topic let me
know.

Works fine for steel tubing. You are just limited to 1/4 aluminum
plate with only 175 amps.
