Paul, after much discussion with Greg we finally agree that it may be
better/simpler to not use any wastegate (he flies MP, not throttle position
or RPM)
Looking at the turbo exhaust manifold it becomes apparent we are carrying
around many pounds of cast iron that are doing nothing and taking up space.
The amount of manifold devoted to wastegate is enormous. A manifold made from
stainless Weld-Els might be better but we feel cracking of the stainless
manifold or welds may be inevitable. Any ideas?

WWW.japperformance.com in Aus has a bullet proof turbo
manifold that can be adapted to the TO4. It is not light weight
but it don't crack according the them. If you buy ten the
shipping is cheaper and you can resell them to the list.

Sign me up for one as a back up in case my stock 91 turbo
does not hold up. Anybody else want a simple TO4 turbo manifold?

        I would be interested if it can be easily adapted to TO4
 without additional weight. Perhaps they can be obtained without
 being drilled and tapped for the stock turbo. Any ball-park
 figures on cost at this time?

This is Jap Performance exhaust manifold for the best stock 89-91 turbo.
About $210 US. Shipping is about $90 US unless we order a bunch and get them
shipped by boat. If we order ten they will also do a TO4 version for us.
No cost difference.
