Do you have a CAD or DXF file of your plate? I do have Cosmos FEA
analysis
with Solidworks. Please also indicate or drawo some more details
about
the
spool mounts and I will see what I can do.

Marc Pedings

Thanks Marc. Here it is. We have not made the final decision on
the spool mounts. I think Jerry is still thinking about the casting.
This is to scale so you can dimension it off the ACAD R12 drawing.

This is what I have of the plate so far. I need some more information
so
that I can conduct a more accurate analysis. I will be testing this
assembly with every environmental variable possible. If I can get this
info
from anyone, I would apreciate it.
Here is a list of a few questions that I have:

1. Please give me the dimensions of the PSRU drive (SEE ATTACHED). I
need this so that I can utilize cast aluminum for my frontal load
analysis
on the plate. I will attempt to simulate a dynamic environment.

2. I need the length of the spacers/spools (from the engine to the
back
of the plate).

3. Since the quoted distance from the flange to the engine is 14.625,
I
will be able to model a forged prop flange after I know the distance of
the
spacer blocks/spools.

4. What is the radius of the fillet within the pockets? I assumed
for my
model (attached below) a .1" radius. This is paramount, for my initial
analysis has determined failure in this area. I may increase this.

I will gladly publish any drawings and my findings after I complete the
analysis.

Marc Pedings

Tracy, can you help us out on these dimensions? Anybody? I don't have my
PSRU
here. It is up at the hangar.

Spacer blocks spools are 3.050 inches long.

Use a half inch ball end mill and it will give a .25 radius.

Total length of housing is 9.630 including planet carrier housing (not shown
on the jpg you sent). Prop shaft extends another 1.39" past end of housing.
Dia at base of P.C. Housing is about 6.8". Web thickness at front bearing
is about .5" but the entier housing and prop shaft stiffness could be
considered infinite for the purpose of an FEA. The plate will be the
controlling factor.
