Dean, I have the Miller. It works extremely well on 53 amps (that is the current it uses) I like
it a lot. I tried the Lincoln and I am partial to the Miller because of feel. It is a matter of
preference though I am sure. Dealers that carry both will tell you that the Miller provides better
welds but in all honesty a welder is only as good as the person welding. 1/4 inch aluminum is
possible with the Miller. I havent tried the max with the Lincoln. Please dont get suckered into
the multi roll version welder. Make sure the welder you look at is AC/DC no matter what your
choice is. If it is only DC you will only be able to do steel and such. You will need AC for
aluminum if you choose.
