Are they legal to copy and post to web in digital format?  I would

be

happy to host them, as long as it was legal.

We could put the papers on my server, and you can put links to

them on

your site.  At least people wouldn't have to remember where they

were

at, but they don't take up any space on your website, and if I get

run

over by a truck you can ask someone else to host them and just

change

links.

Probably not. I don't know what the copyright situations is with

books out

of print either.

It looks like SAE has a process to "give" permission.  I suppose I if I
was worried about it I could go down that path.

Other than that, I guess I could provide archival services to the ACRE
website ;)  I won't know if you post links on the web, or the list.

I do have DSL, and it seems to be fairly reliable.  This can be
countered by having multiple mirrors, i.e. two or three people volunteer
to host the docs.  If one is not available another would be.  This would
be doable if you had web links.

As for the conversion, it sounds like you would prefer to do the
scanning.  I can try and do the win2pdf thing, but it may be easier to
use the batch2pdf utility.  Either way we could try one and see how the
process works.  I don't have a mail box limit, so as long as you can
send it I can receive it.  If that won't work I can setup a private FTP
site and you could upload them.

Would they be on a web site for all to see or would people be able
to download them from a private FTP site? I could then give people the
address without putting the links on the ACRE NL web site. 

I think I might be more
comfortable with that. Like Perry suggested. I can US mail you or Bill copies
that you or Bill can scan in and convert to pdf.
