I just finished the production prototype RV-6A/9A motor mount

yesterday.The

tooling for all the RV series(with the exception of the RV-3&4) is
ready

to

produce mounts. For more information and to see them, go to

I've been waiting for group comments on these motor mounts and haven't
seen any. That surprises
me. So... what do you all think?

I am in favor of anybody building and selling off the shelf motor mounts
as long as they are safe. These motor mounts are now safe. The easier it
is
for people to install rotary engines the better. Be that as it may at
this stage the design details are secondary.

I do suggest however you make a complete mockup or 3D drawing of everything
under the cowl before you make a final decision on motor mounts. Motor
mount tubes have a bad habit of getting in the way.

I have helped build couple mounts and reduction drive for Cozy's and it's
a big hassle and lots of work. After seeing Fred's quality work, I asked
him to build one for me. Yesterday I shipped my oil pan and firewall
drawings so he can design Cozy mount.
We are fortunate to have people like Tracy, Fred. Paul and others on this
list. Prefab components save us years on building time and R&D.
I also spent months helping Ed Heishman build reduction drive that came out
beautiful, but will never do it again. Just ordered one from Tracy.
