I set up a simple rig and measured pressure drop across an evaporator core
(similar to what Ed Anderson is flying) as a function of flow rate. This was
a quick and dirty test, described below.
1. The water inlet is 1/2 inch aluminum tube. To this I teed in a pressure
guage and then hooked it up to a garden water hose.
2. The water outlet is 3/4 " OD Aluminum tube (nominal). I pressed a tygon
tube 1"OD over the tube. The tygon was 10 ft long, didn't bother to cut it
shorter.
3. I set a flow, then timed how long to fill a 5 gallon bucket to a common
mark. The water was weighed one time, and assumed to be at same level on
subsequent runs, as best I could judge.

Some of the pressure drop is through the 1/2" tube going into the exchanger,
and some from the tygon tube going from the exchanger to the sink. My timing
is not exact, and a larger volume giving me more than ~27-35 seconds would
improve accuracy.
Next I would like to get a pump characteristic curve as a function of
pressure generated and volume flowing.
