This one is designed to cut cost at the expense of a little
work on your part. You will have to drill the mounting holes
for your year of 13B as they vary in position. Also the mounting
flange will have to be cut in some circumstances for some years.
Nothing you can't do with a hacksaw and a drill press.
It will fit a six port with a bit of die grinding on the ports
as well as four port turbo and a late 13B turbo. Probably the
Cosmo too.
No tricks are necessary on the mounting bolts from year to year.
It is designed to use cheap 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 inch aluminum pipe
bends from RB Wagner.

Pipe is bigger and cheaper than tube.
What is shown are the inner parts of the runners and the flange.
The casting itself will appear filled in around the runners.

We've learned a lot about practical vs. ideal design, haven't we Paul?
Looks like a good compromise to fit all the 2-rotors out there. I'm still
working on the 3 rotor manifold pattern, although it's been interrupted
several times by such trivial distractions as the family vacation, EAA,
work, a new welding toy (the Lincoln 175 TIG welder), etc.
Which brings me to the next question: I'm trying to make it so that the
runners may be welded into the sockets on the manifold. In fact, I want to
be able to fixture up the plenum, runners, and manifold and tack weld them
all in one shot. But this will mean a thick section to thin section
weld at
the manifold, and all done in aluminum.... probably not an easy (or even
possible?) task. Thoughts anyone?

I don't see a problem welding in .065 pipe runners Tom. You could use set
screws to hold in the runners and Red RTV to seal them.
Paul Lamar
Welding to .065 to 1/2" casting should not be all that difficult. I
recently TIG welded .040 AL tube to 3/8 plate. Key was to preheat the
plate. Recommend you do some test specimens first though.
