Around Jan. you will be seeing about 60 HeliCycle helicopters all flying
with Turbine engines.  If you go to:

In the upper left hand corner, in the red, pick and watch the 8 minute video
of the first one starting up and flying now.  It is the same engine we will
be using a Solar T62T-32. It produces 150HP at 120 Lbs. under our load @
60,000 RPM she burns 10-11 gallons an hour, you can use Jet-A or Kerosene
which cost a bit less.

Now if you want to run a Turbine in one of them easy to fly fixed-wing

They have a turbine video I just got. It's from BD-Micro Technologies. It's
about their T62-A2 turbine conversion for their BD5T kit. It's a 95HP engine
but they show it on the test stand for start up and shutdown, they tear it
apart and show you the internals and how it works and a bunch of other good
information. (side note: you can buy a complete BD5 turbo-prop kit with
engine for $43K from BD Micro Tech; I want one!).
I have heard this video should be required viewing for all of us turbine
rookies because it is the best and only video out on this subject.

Why isn't there more turbine engine use. There are a couple kit makers that
use the 601 Walther as an engine option. I read somewhere that there is a
turbine that is the the 100HP range that only weighs about 120lbs if I
remember right. Do you guys think that there will be more development in the
small turbine area? It seems that there is a good power/weight ratio and the
fuel is sure to be available at 99% of airports. OH and they sound cool
also!! The only down side I see is that they are fairly complicated. If the
"in use" numbers were higher though it should bring the cost down. Sort of
the egg or chicken argument there. So does anyone know of a turbine in the
