It is heavy but probably not as heavy as the HKS with waste gate.
Stock manifold weight is 11 pounds. This one weighs about 14 to 15 pounds.

What does the waste gate weigh? What was the cost of that HKS Chrissi?

I understood "HKS with wastegate" to mean the manifold I have being a wastegate model but with
said wastegate port blocked off, therefore it remains at 12.5 lbs, cost wise I don't recall (not
at home), must be somewhere on the CD :)
If I were to build one from sstl weld El's, would spring loaded slip joints be needed to reduce
cracking?
Would not hurt. Here is a picture of a Racing Beat 3 rotor Inconel turbo
manifold made with Inconel wrinkle belly. Cost $3000.

If the manifold were to go under the oil pan to line turbo up with an augmentation pipe, would
there be an advantage one way or the other in keeping the pipes seperate up to the turbo or a
collector at some point and if so, optimal pipe length up to a collector?

Who knows. Here is picture of a tuned turbo manifold and 250 HP engine
built by Paul Yaw. The street cars get that much HP without the tuned
exhaust manifold.
I think you are going down the wrong path. The energy left in the exhaust
of a turbo is not going to help much extracting air through a rad.
Since you know the engine air consumption you could probably get a good
idea of the velocity of the air coming out of the exhaust pipe
if you also knew the temp and pressure of the exhaust after the turbo.
Also as NACA pointed out in their extractor tech papers the extractor only
works up to the point where the forward speed equals the extractor speed
and that can be as low as 40 MPH. The airspeed out of the rads I am
seeing with the test box is 40 MPH at a forward speed of 74 MPH.
If your exhaust velocity out of the turbo is less than 40 MPH
the extractor quits working.
You are also creating turbo oil drain back problems by mounting
the turbo too low. Never the less this is an interesting project.
