Thanks a bunch. My brother, who designs sonar and other devices for whoi
and others, has sent me some! Little did I know it is so generally
available...never looked at my house alarm cable!!

You might want to consider generic db-xx connectors like on
the back of your computer. If you don't need something
hermetically sealed, they are easy to use, with solder or
crimp style terminations, are very reliable, & can be locked
together with screws.
