I don't know Dan. David Orr, the Mazda NA attorney down there is concerned
about the use of Mazda engines in aircraft. He thinks we are exposing Mazda 
to a "deep pockets law suite". I don't agree of course because Mazda 
really cannot control what use people put their engines to.

On the other hand I think the aviation market for rotary powered cars
is huge. Pilots and mechanics are very high tech oriented and rotary
engines have a wide appeal for them. Jaguar and Ford have a huge booths with
dozens of cars at our major convention/air show called EAA Air Adventure 
every year. About 700,000 people show up for this week long event 
in OshKosh Wisconsin. Probably the largest convention of any kind in the world.
20,000 private airplanes usually arrive. This year several Mazda rotary 
powered airplanes flew demonstration flights while the air show 
announcer explained what they were powered by. Dave Atkins was interviewed
on the local radio about his Mazda rotary powered airplane. 
I think Mazda needs to have a booth at Oshkosh.

I also think Mazda PR should jump on this opportunity. How many car manufacturers
can say?; "Our rotary engines are so durable and reliable that they make better
aircraft engines than real aircraft engines". Not many. I think it would
be worth the legal liability risk. Imagine a TV commercial with
a low flying Mazda powered airplane racing an RX8 down the runway.

If you can obtain for me a meeting with the president of Mazda NA I can
discuss this with him further. Perhaps he can get David Orr off our
case and perhaps I can comfortably  give a talk at SevenStock about
what we are doing with Mazda rotary engine in aircraft without
stepping on any corporate toes. Last thing we want to do is
aggravate Mazda corporate. We are particularly thankful that we
can still buy three rotor engine parts.

Does anybody else on this newsletter have any other comments
on this subject?
