Subject: NACA ducts yet again.

Water cooling aircraft engines is a whole new ball game and not easy.
Why handicap yourself by using s NACA scoop that the inventors say
should not be used with oil coolers and water radiators. How specific
to you want them to get? It is too easy to build static pressure in the
radiator scoop to 80% of dynamic pressure. In a case like that
the air will simply refuse to go into a NACA duct.

Paul,

  Mazda tells us not to use their car engines in airplanes too, but I note
that this hasnt stopped any of us from trying it, nor you from promoting
it.  :-)

  In spite of your repeated warnings people will continue to try to use the
NACA inlets. You'll have to be content with saying I told you so if/when
you are proven to be correct.

OK guys! It is your turn to prove it to me. Either build a water
cooled engined aircraft with a NACA duct feeding the rad or a test
box LIKE I DID and measure the velocity out of the back of
the rad and upload the data here. I am not going to waste my
time building a test box with a NACA duct to prove the NACA
engineers did not know what they were talking about.

In other words. Put up or shut up. That is what applied science is
all about.
