Which one? Top neck or bottom neck?

I am getting pretty good at this computer pattern making.
This may look simple but the learning curve on this was steep
for me. It is the first half of one of the four core boxes
required for the new cast intake manifold. It is in the
stereo lithography machine as we speak. It will take 4.5 hours
to make while I sleep. I will have it in hand next week to take
pictures. I am pretty excited. This partially replaces a $3500
dollar charge for pattern making.

Now as to a new water pump housing casting how bad do you want it
and where should the inlet and out let be? :-)

It is now time, I think, for us to design a radiator that is the
right size, and has the inlets/outlets in the right place, probably
AN,  to cool a NA 13B.   For turbos the core would be thicker,
otherwise the same. With the promise of repeat sales, any radiator
manufacturer would be glad to add this to his  inventory.     The
water pump necks are part of the design.   We need relatively
straight, short hose runs, that's all.   With your CAD ability, Paul,
I bet you could do this in five minutes.   Jerry

I could but talking a rad guy into offering a stock item would be the hard
part :-)

I don't think we are ready yet anyway. Nobody has built a rad system
yet that is totally satisfactory IMHO. That means climbing out to
5000 feet on a 100 degree day at max climb rate. Or sustained top
speed at 8000 feet without over heating. I can do that in my 182.

The details, like back of the rad rad blockage and air inlet ducting,
are still on the ground so to speak.

Eventually I think we will go from the current norm of 500 to 800
cubic inch rads down to 300 to 500 cubic inch rads when we get
the details nailed down. IMHO Perry Mick is pretty close to an ideal
water rad installation. His water rad air duct and scoop need to be
a bit bigger IMHO. Of course he is also down around 150 HP max.

Thanks Paul, I'm just trying to apply what I'm learning on your list!
It is definitely marginal though, at temperatures above 70-80F.
It's been cooler here lately and the water/oil temps are better.
My guess is the limitation is the rad size, not the airflow through it.
Also, my guess at HP is more like 120, I only burn about 7.5 gph,
max. at around 5200/5300 rpm.  These are numbers from my
recent long trip.
