Which one? Top neck or bottom neck?

I am getting pretty good at this computer pattern making.
This may look simple but the learning curve on this was steep
for me. It is the first half of one of the four core boxes
required for the new cast intake manifold. It is in the
stereo lithography machine as we speak. It will take 4.5 hours
to make while I sleep. I will have it in hand next week to take
pictures. I am pretty excited. This partially replaces a $3500
dollar charge for pattern making.

Now as to a new water pump housing casting how bad do you want it
and where should the inlet and out let be? :-)

I'm thinking the inlet/outlet to be on the plugs side to get it away from
the exhaust (& turbo) system.  This would put it with the throttle body (in
my case) but with the fuel system we use there isn't a problem with heat
soak and hot starts.  Looking at the drawing you could put enough material
on both sides for the inlet to give the builder the option of inlet on
either side.  It could be a "drill your own" inlet.

Okay, never mind, that would be too much plumbing to get around the front
pulley and crank angle sensor.

I like that compact housing though and it doesn't look too hard to
make.  Block of aluminum, band saw, big drill bits and a die grinder.  What
would you use, a chunk of 2024?

Yes I think it could be done that way. You would also need a mill
to machine the matting surface to the impeller.
I am not sure 2024 is the best. I don't really know.  I think you might
need a low corrosion alloy. Anodizing it would help of course.
