I don't know... I do know that they do this with custom 3-rotor
engines. There's nothing preventing the rotor from slipping from
one
rotor and sliding on to the next, is there? That's how a 13B is put
together.
No, the rotors can't slide between rotor journals. This is why the
20B
has the inherently weaker 2-piece e-shaft. The 26B (4 rotor) uses a
3-piece (extra journal on either end) e-shaft with similar results --
it works, but is not ideal. FWIW, the 4-rotor Rob owns rights to is
really two 13Bs with a proprietary e-shaft, sectioned in the middle.
It
is actually shorter than the factory 26B and has a stronger crank,
though it uses a 180 degree journal offset so it might not be _quite_
as smooth. Can't wait to put it in something, but Rob is busy with
his
own one-rotor project and someone rather important (sorry, I can't
say)
wants him to work on a couple special projects ASAP. It also doesn't
help that he has a one month backlog on engine rebuilding for regular
customers....<<<<
