I just figured out why the NSU RO-80 p-port idles well
and works so great. I never noticed this before.
Here is a shot of the NSU Wankel Spider
motor showing the two stages of the P-port.
The RO-80 was a two rotor version of this engine.
Obviously the big p-port hole is not used at idle.

Thanks Case. The intake port on the picture of the NSU RO80
I have was covered up with tape so I assumed it was the same
as the NSU Spider rotor housing. The bolt pattern appears to be
the same. If you have some pictures of the RO80 engine I would
love to have them.
