Do you guys know what the screw is supposed to do?

Adjust the fuel pressure by increasing the pressure on the
diaphragm inside, I think. Seems it is used as a rising rate fuel
pressure adjuster during boost to prevent overleaning (has input
from intake manifold for that pressure). Anyhow that is what I
seem to remember on them. The screws fall out all the time, use a
little locktite on it. Have been know to cause fires if the
diaphragm inside has a leak, as the gas comes out on the hot
engine.

Dunno if this technology made it stateside but Ford UK used all sorts
of strange pneumatic/ thermostaic/carb heat  tricks  in the 90's to
lean out the mixture with their last few carb. setups .  The mess of
little pipes & counter - things was quite something to behold ,
though we never got the smog pump over here AFAIK.

And the appendage of Cats on dinky 4 - cyl. engines dont impress-
they had a hard time getting   EGT's  high enough to  activate  the
catalyst  !
