You keep talking about "power hungary". Are you getting these attachments?
They are less than half the power at 4000 RPM than a stock solid state
inductive system!
Once and for all.... CD systems now USE less power not more!!!!
The rapid rise time of the spark is WHY they can punch through fouling
deposits!
At high RPM (above 3000 RPM) the single CD pulse is
just the right width and no more! Why have a spark that last 100
MS when combustion is all over in 5 MS!

Paul, take a look at the charts in your message and decide if the data makes
any sense.
The chart on power consumption is obviously bogus. It shows a power
consumption for EI ignition to be over 4 times higher than points at 6000
RPM. I think you pointed out in an earlier post that the only difference
between the two was that EI ignition simply uses a transistor in place of
points to switch the coil current on and off. This is correct.
Question, why would replacing points with a transistor cause the power to
quadruple?
Not bogas.
Two reasons. Dwell angle control and dwell duration control. Modern
solid state inductive systems do both. Heisler provides the schematic
for such a system. I highly recommend this book.
There are errors here and there mostly in the illustrations but
it deals with many of the latest engine developments of all kinds
except the rotary.
BTW Can anybody find the real error in one of the Heisler
charts I uploaded?
