BTW IMHO a better place for the coolant pump is down
low. We of course are stuck with where it is. Some of the
more recent engine designs have put the coolant pump at the
bottom of the engine. This puts a bit more pressure on the
inlet side of the pump.
The popular trend in racing seems to be external electric powered water pumps. I wonder how or if
this would apply to us. Would be so simple to remove pump and put a flange on front plate. Lots of
amps though.

If you do the physics no where near enough power to cool the engine
on a continuos basis. A typical water pump is up to 3 HP.
One HP is 746 watts 3 x 746 is 2,238 watts P=VxA. 14 volts 159 amps.
Good luck. Not even close. We had long discussions about this
in the past and all sorts of wild ass claims.
