Hey folks, I've been reading some of the threads concerning the
Teflon-Encapsulated
Silicone o-rings (TES) and was wondering what the general consensus
was
with
the use
of these o-rings in an oil-filled environment such as for crankcase
blow-by
sealing &
prevention, etc. Does anyone know if these bad boys are completely
oil-proof over a
very long period of time or are they like typical silicone products
that
are
merely "resistant"
and turn into jelly in an oil environment?

The teflon coating makes them almost impervious to all known
chemicals.
These are absolutely the best you can get for almost all applications.
IMHO they are a major durability breakthrough in regard to inadvertent
overheating of the rotary both water and oil.

I have to agree with Paul Lamar....I used to make and sell hydraulic
hoses,
and after a lot of research through the technical manuals from the Gates
Rubber Company, I found that teflon was both the most durable, and
impervious to almost any chemicals except freon. (The freon molecules
are so
small that they can permeate the teflon). Teflon is an excellent choice
for
