Could you explain exactly what has been milled down in this
installation. I
can't quite visualize what pieces have been milled or substituted from
the
end housing.

Difficult to expain Stan but here are some pictures. Richard does not have
all problems solved as yet so some of this will change.

Stan from what I can gather(from the pictures) Richard has done the opposite
to what Paul was considering ie. he has cut the rear housing and milled the
rear-off (keeping the original wear plate) and replaced the rear /centre
with the plate and put on another cut down rear. Similar for the front.
I figure the rear might be longer and the front shorter therefore making it
the same size. But I could be completely wrong  - I don't know how he's got
everthing working.
Might be a good argument to have a 2 piece new rear end incorporating a new
water pump molded in - could this be done !?
I'm guessing, but from the look of it it must be a gasket seal for the rear
section.

"Opposite"? It is exactly what I was considering. I only showed a drawing
of the front end housing. Do you mean opposite to the front housing?

The rear housing of a one rotor does not require 
a phasing gear and therefore is much simpler to machine. Also a lot of 
weight back there can be saved as an aluminum main bearing house and e-shaft
oil seal holder can be used.

Richard is planning on using O-rings where ever possible.
