For an inlet velocity of 80 MPH the opening should be
6.6 by 15 inches or 103 square inches. Assuming an
optimistic  60 degree F air temp rise.

Now we need some real world numbers from those flying
airplanes to get a precise handle on this.

Paul, Exactly what (which) real world numbers do you need? Please send a
detailed list. Yvon Cournoyer.

Two things. the air velocity going in the rad air front opening
and the temperature of the air exiting the rad. Also the outside air temp
and the speed of the plane.
