  For the test, what do  you think of a variable inlet opening , from
3 inches to 6 inches ?  Like a reverse cowl flap.     Jerry
 
If you are willing to build it I am willing to test it.

Here is the drawing Jerry. Made from 3/4 ply and dry wall screwed
together. Put 3/4 half round trim all all openings to smooth 
the air intake.
