The original scoop on the Long EZ was the P51 type. The dimensions

should be on the Long EZ drawing. Does anybody have a copy lying
around? <<

I don't know if there are any copies.  The cowls and inlet scoop are listed
as prefabricated, vendor supplied parts in the materials list,  and were
sold by Wicks and ACS for the Vari and Long.

The plans that I have (fairly early ones...serial number 232) do not include
dimensions for the cowls, or even scaled drawings of them in either the
plane or the engine manuals.  They just tell how to trim and fit them, with
sketches to clarify. I could not find a sketch of the scoop, either. Just
the cowls.

Even the earliest newsletters that I have (1980) list ACS and Wicks for the
suppliers of the cowlings, but it also lists a specific company for the
Viggen's cowlings.  They may have also made the cowlings for the Long and
the Vari. The company listed as the manufacturer of molded fiberglass parts
for the Vari-Viggen, was Monnet Experimental Aircraft.  I believe this was
John Monnet who was making the Volkswagen powered Sonerai kits at the time.
