We had a weeks long discussion about this several years ago.
The big trouble with this logic is nobody is measuring what amounts
to the cylinder head temp on a rotary. Basically what that means
is a thermal couple mounted within .050 inch of the combustion chamber
next to the trailing spark plug which is the hottest part
of the engine. The temp of the coolant is only vaguely related to
this number. This cylinder head temp is the bottom line and
propylene glycol probably will not reduce this number regardless
of its boiling temp. Its ability to transfer heat from the metal to
the coolant is worse then ethylene glycol and way worse
than pure water.
