 Al take a look at that corrugated SS water pipe from Summit Racing.
 Chuck Dunlap seems to be having good luck with that stuff.

Al,
I bought some cheap foam pipe insulation from the hardware store, and used it
to mock up my installation before deciding on the route for the piping. By
cutting notches in the side of the foam, you can bend it and then tape it to
position with Duck tape.  It doesn't really simulate it fully, but lets you
get an idea of the clearances, etc.

For welding the Aluminum tubing where joints had to be made (two places) I
took 1-1/4" aluminum PIPE, the I.D. of which just matches the 1-3/8 O.D. of
the tubing, and sliced it in 1/2 to make a clamp to hold the ends together
until the welder could tack and then weld the tubing.

Great idea!  For $1.99 I got enough of the foam pipe insulation to model the piping layout (which
for my system is a bit complex).  I found that I could glue the notches and different pieces with
my glue gun if I didn't let it heat up all the way (otherwise the glue just melts the foam).

The corragated SS is a bit spendy for modeling, and I don't think I'd use it for the actual system
because the corragated wall has got to make for some amount of pressure drop with any kind of
velocity in the pipe.  You'd have to go to a larger diameter.

I plan to use short sections of hose to connect the rigid piping to the rads, and maybe also to
the water pump.  The Wiggins couples look good but don't allow for much movement or misalignment,
particularly laterally; and of course they are much more expensive.  I figure if a radiator hose
can last 7-9 years on my 20 psi Jag system, I won't worry much about a short section that I'll
change out every couple of years on my plane.   I may have a couple of Wiggins couplings for sale
later.
