Paul,
We want to relocate our alternator but bracket only supports the alternator
in one plane rather than front and back at the pivot point. This could lead
to the alternator being skewed under tension and causing premature belt
failure or the alternator to vibrate front/rear on the bracket.
Is there any history of hours on this bracket?

I forgot to mention that. 90% of the load is on the front bolt
and adjusting arm. Belt tension you know.  Any kind of simple clip 
will work on the other end.
