Well, I finally got it all together. Here are photos of the prototype
manifold for the 20B engine. Came out fairly well. There's about 1/16"
oversize on the edges of a couple of the openings in the flange face, but if
that bothers anybody that is what DevCon was made for!
The finished piece weighs in at about 6 lbs (my bathroom scale lies all the
time... could be 5-7 lbs) and fits up to the block just fine. It has 1/8"
deep counter bored sockets on the top to take 2" diameter aluminum pipe
(2-3/8" OD) for the runners. These can be welded, brazed, or JB-Welded into
the sockets. The design also permits using the stock Mazda "secondary" fuel
injectors and fuel rail that are mounted right on the block. Additional
fuel injectors (and their bosses) will be needed somewhere on the intake
runners to bring the mixture up to the necessary richness.
Using a prefabricated elbow, the top of the intake runners will rise to
9-5/8" above the e-shaft horizontal centerline at 4" out from the vertical
centerline. A whole lot less than the stock manifold!
I can have these poured and machined locally, but I am going to shop a bit
to see if I can find a foundry & machine shop with better rates. Should be
able to start shipping in late winter/early spring (sooner if you want to
pay the local rates!).
Let me know if you are interested.

Looks great Tom. How much?
