The quote from Slausons seems to be the front gear set without the
outer
holding teeth which could be better for a 2.85 ratio as the outer
rotates. Regards Don
Don,
I spoke to Luke at Slausons, who says that the toothed Annular (ring
gear)
is from a 3 and 4 pinion set-up and the one he quoted me was the latest
Annular with the 6 pinion set-up. (God knows what it looks like- but I
will
pass on photo's, finally got a digital camera)
It would appear some 3 and 4 pinion are interchangeable and can
therefore be
used with the 6pinion, but not all are interchangeable (as past ACRE
posts
would indicate)
I guess if I need a toothed Annular (and mine comes without teeth) I can
always get another one cheaply enough.

I don't think anybody said all parts where all interchangeable. They are
not.
Sorry if you got that impression from me. There is a front planetary
and a rear planetary. Some TX C6 versions (OD version?) have three
planetary as I recall.

Paul,
I remember the info from you/the group, it clearly stated that 'not all'
were interchangeable - so I was a ware of that.
I worked-out that the difference between the front and rear Planetary as I
went to a place in Brisbane called Trans-Wreck - I saw so many Planetaries,
it made my head spin. They didn't know the ratios so I need to research
those through Ford.
They were all Ford and some were massive Planetaries -up to 600 HP.
The most expensive one was only $130.00 Aust.
