I don't really know for sure. Makes sense to me as it is likely
to homogenize the emitted frequencies. Can you find .049?
won't add that much weight. About .3 pounds per foot.

Accordiing to information published on this list some time ago, I
think the recommended ss wall thickness should be .065  or greater.
Even though it is twice as heavy as .035, it is still not heavy.
What is HEAVY is replacing a hand fitted exhaust that has burned out
after only a few hours. I think the racers are using either .065
stainless or .125 mild steel.     Jerry
