The table saw motor was heavy enough that I could not lift it into position
and hold it steady to insert the hinge pin comfortably. I ended up suspending
it from my engine hoist and using that to adjust belt tension.

I really regret not taking the time to measure the current, but clearly the
claims that you can save 7-8 horsepower are exaggerated. If you are running
up to 9-10000 rpm, then that may be a different story, because the power
consumption of the pump (and the pressure it makes) will go (roughly) as the
square of the RPM.

Can you find a larger pulley for that saw motor Bill. I would like to
know at what RPM the Mazda pump starts cavitating. I'll pop for the cost.
What size shaft is it? We can order one from McMaster Carr.
