Not everybody has Photo Shop. As I recall it is expensive.
 Is there another way?

Paul,
I use Thumbs+ from Cerious Software for my picture filing system, I just
tried Chrissi's technique, and it works with it also.

1. Print screen
2. open thumbs directory
3. paste
4. drag around the picture area of interest
5. Under File menu " Save selected portion" , use JPG as save method.

Thumbs costs ~$60.

Actually with Thumbs, I was able to select a portion of the screen in
Turbocad and just paste it into thumbs, see clip003.gif also attached.

Also not necessary to zip jpgs or gifs as they are already compressed.
