Bulent,
Did you consider removing the ring gear teeth and welding them on the
earlier wheel that fits Tracy's dampener? (this can be done as a repair
to the ring gear after starter damage to the teeth....) I know the auto
teeth are wider for that starter. In any case, I would like to see a pic
of that adaptor plate if you have one. Keep us informed, some of us
won't be bored!!!
My only concern is that the redrive and the bellhousing have no support
except the housing bolts (incl and the two dowels), and the starter
straddling the housing and engine. What do you think of this, Paul?
[Marc Wiese]
Its plenty strong enough. Stronger and stiffer than Tracy's setup.
Too bad there is not an unlimited supply of auto tx bell housings.
In another year or two there might be enough of a demand to justify
a casting.

I looked at exchanging the ring gear, but opted for the adapter plate. I was
not comfortable grinding the welds and re welding again. Sometime parts can
warp, and than I will be in a deep S--- without ring gear.
When I take a photo I will post it.
Does not look like there is a shortage of auto tx bellhousings. I can ask
around my sources if anyone is looking for one.
Bulent
Bulent, I'm interested in an atx bellhousing.
Thanks,
Rick Girard
