If you can arrange a cowl flap do away with the thermostat.

Paul,  you may have been wondering about the lower water pump neck.
As soon as I can find the time, I am going to make a weld on adaptor
to convert it to 1" pipe as well.    Jerry

One inch Pipe or one inch AN hose? There is a large difference.
One inch hose is one inch but one inch Pipe is really about
1 3/8 inch with close to twice the area and flow.

IMHO one inch hose is a bit marginal. I am going to use Wiggins
couplings like Bill Schertz  and Continental uses on their liquid cooled
engines with 1 3/8  OD tubing.

Butch made up a batch and most of them were sold I think.
