   The insert is my pride and joy although no drawing of it exists
yet. It will be made from a solid piece of 2.5 aluminum rod.  This
piece can be bored to any i.d. from the largest to the smallest of P
Ports.  Further, final  shaping of the port can be done to the insert
at the bench.  On the outside of the housing the insert will be bored
and turned to exactly match the runner.

  I would appreciate any advice about sealing the butterfly shaft.
Would tightly fit plain brass bearings do the job?       Jerry

No skin off my teeth :-) With EFI you don't need to seal the
butterfly shaft. A bit of air leakage is of no consequence 
because the mixture is adjusted with the O2 sensor.
Also the percentage of the air leaking in around the shaft
is a tiny amount compared to the main flow. Aircraft engines
run WOT most of the time.
