You and the others on this group are certainly a fountain of great and useful
information regarding these rotary engines and you are to be commended for
your efforts.

Are there other rotary's besides Mazda's, say with a larger overall combustion
chamber and rotor, or smaller overall size but with more more rotors. I read
on your site that although the rotary turns at higher RPM rates than
reciprocating engines, there was an upper limit due to physical considerations
and the properties of the metal construction itself. There are so many
different types and sizes of recip's out there with different properties; Is
the mazda design the optimal size ? how would a smaller " diameter " engine
with more rotors behave --- maybe more rpm's and more power ? Or a larger
scaled up rotary with larger combustion chambers ?

Oh yes. Here is a picture of one that you can crawl into.
One can buy a model airplane size rotary. Somebody at Berkeley
built one of microscopic size.
