I'm looking at a Q200 with a (1)rotor Mazda rotary. He says it has a

ROSS

2.85 PSRU. The (1) rotor was also built by ROSS years ago he said. What

is

the pro's and con's of the 2.85 ROSS drive? Is this OK for a (1) rotor

or is

2.19 PSRU better for it? Is ROSS, still in business?

The Ross 2.85:1 is a good way to go but you might have to add a sun
gear thrust bearing. I have no idea if Ross is still in business.

I am led to believe that the 2.85 is the best alternative for a 1 rotor.
It was explanined to me that to get the 125hp requirement many seek for take
off and climb, requires 7,500 RPM or 2631 prop rpm. A 2.17 would give you
give you 3456 prop RPM (well over the speed of sound on a standard size
prop).
The good thing is that is sits on about 6,000 RPM for cruise (I believe)!
