Very nice piece; how much pressure do you expect it to see under boost
conditions ?
What would typical inlet temperatures for an intercooled rotary turbo
operating say at 15000' , MP=30" ,rpm 6000, OAT 0 degrees
celsius----Ballpark figure ?
Without an intercooler ?
The whole idea of a turbo is to maintain sealevel pressures at altitude, not
to run 20 lbs of boost right ? Asking.

This thing is strong enough to take 200 psi :) I am looking for
5 to 8 psi at sea level with a stock 1989 -1991 unmodified
turbo.
According to Hugh MacInnes book "Turbochargers" a NA engine will
lose HP at about a rate of 2.5% per 1000 feet.
A free floating turbo (no waste gate) will lose HP at about
a rate of 1.8% per 1000 feet.
I have no idea what will happen without an intercooler as the
intake temp rise can cause detonation which can be death to apex
seals. I don't have enough knowledge about the rotary to know
what that critical temp is. On a WW II turbocharged P38 it was
about 139 degrees F. I have no intention of not using an intercooler
for that reason. I'll know more when we can measure the intake air
temp on a flying example.
Flat rating was invented for right-on-the-durability-edge, aircraft
piston engines that come apart at several percentage points above
their HP ratings. They are usually more tolerant of an extra 500
RPM then they are of 5 psi boost.
The rotary is so tolerant of high boost that Greg Richter flies
the boost gage. In other words there is no waste gate. You set
the boost at say five psi for takeoff with the throttle.
You then push the throttle in at altitude for what ever HP/boost you
can get or want.
