Sorry, but I haven't been following this thread for a while. How big is the
largest diameter on the bell housing? The last time I looked at the
drawings, it looked like a relatively easy pattern to make: lots of
symmetry, and something that could be turned on a lathe pretty easily. No
hand carving at all. I need a good Christmas project!

Largest diameter is about 15 inches for the bolt flange.
Here is what I have come up with so far. The flat lower sides
can be used to bolt on your fabricated rubber bushing brackets
of choice. This give a maximum amount of flexibility as it
seems nobody can agree on just how wide they want their rubber
bushings to be. It is rather more complicate inside as various
and assorted ribs are required to provide support for Tracy's
PSRU.
What does everybody think?

Looks like a very good idea to me. Note, the bolt flange does not

I am not sure what you mean by that. The Ross does and works
well. There is a sheet steel cover on the top of the end housing
that was used for a starter mounting years and years ago.
Finn came up with the idea of bolting on an extruded aluminum
angle and then bolting the angle to the Ross bolt
flange. Really strengthens the connection between engine
to bell housing and better distributes the stress in the
bell housing itself.
