Looks great Perry. No problem with four 1/4 inch bolts in
single shear. Each single shear bolt location will take in
theory 7,000 pounds at 150,000 psi.

Correct Paul, to be exact it's 7,363lbs...Of Tension, however in a Shear
application one should figure on 60% of that (4,418lbs.)

Perry, you could get away with thinner side plates.
Each bolt joint is only subjected to 900# / 4 or
about 225 pounds at six G's assuming this mounts
took half the 1800 pound vertical G load.
The 1/4" bolt bearing stress for a 3/16 thick steel plate would be
only about 4800 psi. Not high. Even for aluminum.
You could save a bit of weight by going down to .090 4130.
Not much in terms of actual pounds saved so it is not really
very important. It is not a bad thing to over design small brackets
like this. Unless of course you are designing 747's and there
are thousands of brackets :)

OK, maybe I'll use 1/8". This bracket can be used
by anyone who might want to use the stock 2nd gen mount
points. Not restricted to just the LEZ.
