I have been looking at the IK2000 unit as well. Looks like a lot of bang
for the buck. However, I noticed the RPM readout only goes to 3000 rpm
which obviously won't do for a rotary installation. Do you know if they
can/will rescale the rpms for rotary numbers and what type of signal is
required?

Don't know. You'll have to ask them. I'm not familiar with the product.
