I have been looking at the IK2000 unit as well.  Looks like a lot of bang
for the buck.  However, I noticed the RPM readout only goes to 3000 rpm
which obviously won't do for a rotary installation.  Do you know if they
can/will rescale the rpms for rotary numbers and what type of signal is
required?

Don't know. You'll have to ask them. I'm not familiar with the  product.

I sent them an inquiry yesterday and got this response back.  Later on, Ralph (chief engineer)
called me and basically said that they will work with any installation configuration and that the
rpm thing is no problem.  He seemed like a very nice guy and very willing to make whatever changes
I might need to make it work for a 3-rotor Mazda.  They are sending me some literature to review.

In the meantime, I can assure you that your electronic ignition and 6500 max rpm would present no
problem. The RPM bargraph on the units we provide for Rotax engines, for example, are marked to
6000 -- we configure the IK2000 to each particular engine.
