I don't anticipate any heat problems with my turbo and the starter
being on the same side.
The starter is at least ten inche away and a heat shield would
be no problem compared to the problems of mounting it on the
other side. I would be happy to look at a 3D rendering of the
casting pattern you propose Chrissi with the starter mounted
on the other side :)

Gee thanks Paul. I was only responding to the two pictures you had included.
For those who are using this in a pusher configuration, this would be a big help in routing the
exhaust or at least giving the most options.
Another way of looking at it... you have a chance to make an improvement before it is cast in
concrete..uh aluminum.

I don't see your point Chrissi. Moving the 2nd gen and lower starter over to the other side is not
easy with a simple casting. You have plenty of room in
a pusher along side the narrow rotary engine to route the exhaust away
from the starter. It is far easier to do that than it is to design
a simple casting that will move the 2nd gen starter over to the other side.
The bell housing mounting bolts and the starter bolts interfere
with each other.
