Can anybody identify these things? They appear to be oil/water
heat exchangers but I can't find the water plumbing in and out.
They are not the oil filters unless they are using four.
Perhaps they have been bypassed by the owner having already discovered
that they are a bad idea in general. Probably replaced with
a conventional oil cooler. Any glycol/water cooling system is
marginal at best so why add to its problems. Oil does not boil
in our temperature ranges so it makes a fine parallel cooling
system.

No but I will take another look. I think you are right. Why two?
I suppose one for each fuel tank.
