Paul,

coolant and oil enter through the center housing" . Do you have any
pictures or diagrams showing how the fluids circulated. Could this help
with problems with the rear rotors running hotter than the front one?
I just purchased a '90 RX7 car and the rear rotor has no compression. It
may be just a stuck apex seal or a broken one. Motor has 60K on it and was
driven by a lady in tennis shoes---really! She said she was going to choir
practice and "poof" sound and loss of power. This is the second engine that
has done the same thing. Mazda replaced the first one at 80K with customer
paying labor only. Any way to diagnose stuck vs broken apex seal? How do
you prevent either from happening? What snake oil did Ed Anderson use to
free his five apex seals before tearing down his engine to free the sixth?

Some times the seals stick if the car is not driven on a regular
basis. As I recall auto transmission oil can unstick them some times.
You can also take the exhaust system off and get to the seals through
the exhaust port with a bit of WD40. You should be able to move
them in and out with your finger.
A poof sound sounds like it is a turbo and the seal broke from
detonation. Bad timing or other ignition or injection problems.
